%O - Returns the objective gender-specific pronoun for the target (Him, Her, It).

|/adriver||writes sound card information to a file.|
|/afk (ON or OFF) <text>||When activated, all private tells sent to the user will auto-respond with the following text, "You told <Players name>, 'Sorry, I am A.F.K. (Away from keyboard) right now.'". If you add some text after the /afk command it will appear as "AFK Message: <text>"|
|/alt activate ###||Activates the AA ability corresponding to the number entered. See below for further information.|
|/alternateadv (ON, OFF, LIST, or %)||Allows you to turn AA XP, and also list all AAs available to you. % allows you to state what percentage of XP is to go to AAs.|
|/anon or /a (ON or OFF)||Makes you Anonymous in /who and /who all, preventing other Players from seeing your class, level, race, guild, and current zone.|
|/apvoptimizations||A new graphics optimization has been added to EverQuest to improve framerate performance so that gameplay is more enjoyable. Auto Portal Volume Optimization has been implemented in the vicinity of objects which contain large numbers of inner objects. In some cases we have tested the optimization and have seen a 15 percent gain in frame rate. You can toggle apv optimizations off and on with the slash command, "/apvoptimizations."|
|/assist <name>||This command will automatically target for you whoever that <name> is fighting at the moment. Or if you have someone in your target window, just using /assist will target whoever they are targeting.|
|/assist group||This will assist the player who is assigned as Group MA by using the Group Leader Leadership AA (DMA).|
|/assist raid||This will assist the player who is assigned as Raid MA by using the Raid Leader Leadership AA (DMA).|
|/assist (ON or OFF)||Toggles "auto attack on assist" on or off. This means that whenever you assist, you will not attack immediately.|
|/attack or /a (ON or OFF)||Toggles in and out of attack mode. This will put you in attack mode even if nothing is targeted. Be careful not to use this when near NPC's that you have targeted. By default, this is set to the "Q" key. Care should also be taken when you are near an NPC that you have targeted not to hit the "Q" key, as this may cause you to attack the NPC.|
|/auction <text>||Allows users to send auction messages throughout the current zone. (Used to buy/sell items)|
|/autofire||/autofire is a toggle command that will fire your ranged weapon until you run out of ammunition, turn on autoattack to switch to melee combat, or use the /autofire command again.|
|/autoinventory or /autoinv||Places the item on your cursor into the first slot available in your inventory.|
|/autosplit or /au (on or off)||Turns autosplit (whether money you loot all stays with you or gets split among the group immediately) on or off. Works as a toggle if no parameter is supplied.|
|/bartar||Opens the Barter windows and allows you to see who is buying the items you wish to sell.|
|/bazaar or /baz||Opens up the bazaar browsing window to search for items that are for sale in the Bazaar (Bazaar zone only).|
|/beta||Will flag the current character on the live servers to be copied to the Beta server if you are on the Beta test.|
|/betabuff <class> <level>||Type /betabuff CLASS LEVEL - where CLASS is the class of the character you would like to create, and LEVEL is the level you want that character to be. LEVEL can only be numbers divisible by 5, starting at 20. So 20, 25, 30, etc.|
|/blockspell <action> <target> <spellnumber>|| Usage: /blockspell <action> <target> <spellnumber>|
Valid <action>: display, add, remove, clear
Valid <target>: me pet

|/book # (1 to 50)||Will take you to the corresponding page of your spell book.|
|/booklearn #||(and /bookunlearn) that take a single argument (the item # to be learned/unlearned).|

|/bugreport or /b||Opens the Bug Report window, used to send information to the Development Department about bugs/glitches.|
|/buyer||Opens up the Buyer Window and allows you to select items to purchase.|
|/camp (server or desktop)||Causes Player to camp out of the game, to the character selection screen (default), server selection screen or your desktop. if you are standing, it will auto /sit you and then /camp - if on a house you need to /dismount first.|
|/cast # (1 to 9)||Will cast the spell memorized in the corresponding slot (9 requires OoW).|
|/channel (gsay, ooc, shout, guild, auction)||Toggles the relevant chat channel on or off.|
|/charinfo or /char||Give you important information about your character, for example your bind point.|
|/chatfontsize (0 to 5)||This command will allow Players to adjust the size of the font in the chat window.|
|/claim||Command to allow you to claim in-game prizes for various reasons. Usually when purchasing Box Sets instead of downloaded expansions from SoE.|
|/clearchat||Clears the Chat Window's scrollback buffer.|
|/clearhits||Will clear the current setting for the M2-M5 modes of the /hitsmode command. See below for more information.|
|/clearmarks||Removes all current NPC marks.|
|/combatmusic (ON or OFF)||Turns on/off the playing of combat music.|
|/consent (<player name>, group, guild, raid)||Gives <Player name> or your group, guild, or raid permission to drag your corpse.|
|/consider or /con||Gives vital statistics about a target, such as faction and approx. level.|
|/corpse||Will summon a character's corpse if it with in a 50' radius of the Player. Note: you must have been /consented by the person whose corpse you are dragging|
|/corpsedrag||You target a corpse and use this command, then when you move the corpse is automatically moved with you. Note: It is possible to have 2 corpses linked to you using this, and also possible to use /corpse to drag a third!|
|/corpsedrop||You use this to stop dragging a corpse you where dragging with the /corpsedrag command.|
|/decline||Allows the user to decline a duel.|
|/deny (<player name>, group, guild, raid)||revokes the permission previously given to <Player name> or your group, guild, or raid to drag your corpse.|
|/disband (target, player name)||Causes a Player to disband from a group or decline a group invitation. Can also work on another player if you are Group Leader, by supplying player name or by having the player in your Target Window.|
|/deletepetition||Allows you to delete you current /petition.|
|/discipline <name> or /disc||Allows you to run a discipline from the command line, for example /disc fearless.|
|/dismount||Lets you get off of a horse or drogmor.|
|/doability # (1 to 10)||Will fire the specified ability. Abilities 1 - 6 are those that are set on the "Abilities" page, Numbers 7 - 10 represent those that are set on the "Combat Skills" page. See below for more information.|
|/dopropertinting||Turns on/off "proper tinting," which will tint only clothes instead of skin.|
|/duck||Makes you duck, handy for moving through small places.|
|/duel or /d||Challenges targeted PC to a duel - to accept, they type /d with you targeted as well. Duel is in effect until one "dies" (is knocked unconscious) or flees the zone.|
|/dynamiclights (ON or OFF)||When on, this command enables players to see specially rendered lighting. This command is most useful when the player is holding, or has a light source with them, such as a torch. Turn this command to off if you notice low frame rate.|
|/dzaddplayer (Name)||Allows you to invite <Target OR Player Name) to join your GoD/OoW Expedition.|
|/dzlisttimers||Lists any outstanding lockout (replay) timers for GoD/OoW expeditions.|
|/dzmakeleader (name)||Makes the selected player the new GoD/OoW expedition leader.|
|/dzplayerlist||Lists all the players in the current GoD/OoW expedition.|
|/dzquit||Leaves the current expedition.|
|/dzremoveplayer (name)||Removes the selected player from the GoD/OoW expedition (can be used across zones).|
|/dzswapplayer (name1) (name2)||Swaps 1 player for another in a GoD/OoW expedition, allows the new player to zone into the expedition and kicks the old player out.|
|/emote <text> or : <text> or /em <text>||Emotes the <text>, Example: /em laughs will display <Player> laughs ... OR : laughs will display <Player> laughs|
|/exit or /ex||Same as /quit. Immediately logs your character out to the server screen, even if FD'ed or sitting. This still leaves you in the game world until kicked by the server.|
|/facepick||Brings up the face customization screen. Luclin only command.|
|/fastdrop (on, off, never)||Disables or enables the ability to drop items on the ground without a confirmation box. The recommended setting for this option is the same as the default setting, which is /fastdrop off. If set to never, you will never be able to drop any items on the ground. If set to on, no confirmation box will come up before dropping the item on the ground. Caution is advised as many NPC's (Non player characters such as merchants) do pick up items dropped on the ground by players.|
|/feedback||Opens the feedback window, which is used to send ideas to SoE's development department.|
|/filter <name> (on/off)||Toggles the various filters on and off. <name> can be one of the following: badword, guildsay, social, gsay (for group say), shout, auction, ooc, mymisses, othersmisses, otherhits, atkmissesme, pcspells, npcspells, bardsongs, dmgshield, critspells, critmelee|
|/find||Brings up the find window for specific NPCs in certain zones.|
|/findpc||Uses the leadership command "Find PC" which displays a trail to the PC you specify.|
|/follow||When this command is used while targeting another Player, the user will automatically follow the targeted character as long as you are grouped with them, until you turn to either side, or they run out of range. Note: autofollow will drag you over cliffs, through water or lava, and other dangerous places. Use care when driving!|
|/fontface <name>||Changes the fond of the chat window to <name>|
|/friends <player name>||Adds or removes a "friend" from your friends list. (Max of 100 friends). /friends with no text after it shows the entire friends list.|
|/ftell <text>||Sends a tell to everyone on your friends list.|
|/gems||Lets you play the free mini game of Gems.|
|/getguildmotd or /get||Used by guild members to view the guild Message of the Day.|
|/gmarknpc (1, 2 or 3)||Uses the Group Mark NPC leadership ability, to mark 1, 2, or 3 NPCs depending on how many levels the Group Leader has.|
|/gsay <text> or /g <text>||Text is seen by all in your group.|
|/guidehelp||Please note the /guidehelp command is for quest/event feedback, wedding requests, questions regarding quests/events. Please be aware that all Customer Service issues must go through /petition for resolution.|
/guildremove <your name>
Removes yourself from your current guild. Guild Leader/Officer commands below.
|/guildsay <text> or /gu <text>||Sends a text message to fellow guild members currently on-line.|
|/guildstatus <player>||Shows a person's current guild affiliation as well as position, i.e. Member, Officer, Leader. Note: must be in same zone as person to use.|
|/hail||Hails the target if selected.|
|/help <topic> (normal, emote, voice, chat or guild)||Will display emotes, guild commands, chat commands (some), voice commands (some) and normal commands separately.|
|/hidecorpses (none, all, or allbutgroup)||Hides or shows corpses based on parameter entered. Good way to increase performance in some zones.|
|/hitsmode <my|me|other> <on|off|m2|m3|m4|m5> <X> <Y> <COUNT> <FONTSIZE> <HEADER> <BG> <WIDTH> <FORCEDRAW>||/hitsmode allows you to create separate windows for your combat text. This is a rather advanced feature, so it might take a little practice to get the results that you want. See below for more information.|
|/hotbutton <name> <colour> <txt>||This will save a hotbutton for you. Name - A hotbutton will automatically be created with this name. Color - Optional. Uses this color number for the color of the text. Text - Up to 60 character macro to be used for the hotbutton.|
|/ignore <player name>||Lists the players on your ignore list. If a name is specified, that name is added or removed to the ignore list, max of 100 people on ignore list. Basically, this will turn off all text from that Player.|
|/indicator||Turns on/off the target indicator reticle.|
|/inspect||Inspects your current targets equipment.|
|/inspectbuffs (name)||Uses the Inspect Buffs Leadership ability to tell you what buffs <name> has (either in group or raid). The second level of this Leadership AA, also tells you how long is left on the buff.|
|/invite <player name>||Invites a Player to group with you. Also works if player is in your Target Window and no parameter is supplied.|
|/invwinlabels||This command toggles on and off the descriptions for the full screen mode inventory (requires Velious).|
|/keys||Lists the keys on your keyring.|
|/language||Displays the current language.|
|/language #||Selects the chat language to use in general communication.|
|/language help||Displays a list of available languages and their corresponding number.|
|/lfg (on or off)||Toggles the Looking For Group window. /lfg on (or off) turns lfg on or off. Note: /lfg by itself loads the LFG Tool.|
|/loadskin <foldername> <1/0>||The 'foldername' is the name of the folder where the skin you want to load is (that folder MUST be in the UIFiles folder). The last argument should be 1 if you want to use your current INI settings for the new skin, or 0 if you want to load the positions/sizes from the XML (and then appropriately modify them for your resolution).|
|/location or /loc||Displays the user's current coordinates. It gives you an X-Y set of coordinates of where you are or where the object you are targeting is. It works as follows: X - This is your North/South direction. The higher the number, the further North you are, and the lower the number the further South you are. Y - This is your East/West direction. The higher the number, the further West you are, and the lower the number, the further East you are. If you're trying to track down something and you have the coordinates but don't want to deal with the North/East/South/West thing, all you have to do is start walking around while rapidly using the /loc command and see the difference in x,y while you walk in different directions. If your current x is higher than the x you're trying to find, change directions until x starts to get smaller. If you keep using /loc you should n|
|/log (on or off)||Logs all text locally to the user's machine. The log file is saved under your characters named in the logs folder.|
|/loot||Allows the user to loot a corpse from a short distance. The corpse must be targeted when performing this command.|
|/lootnodrop (always, sometimes, never)||Specifies whether you want a popup to come up every time you loot a no drop item, only when usable by your character, or never.|
|/makeleader||Using this command allows you to change the leader of your group.|
|/marknpc||Uses the leadership command "Mark NPC" which gives an NPC a special target reticle.|
|/mcicontrol||Allows a player to control sound devices such as cdaudio or mp3s to play when in-game. This command will be further developed in the future to be more user friendly. Until that point, the following are some commands you can use to play audio CD's: Before using any other of these commands, use the following to open up communications: See below for more information.|
|/me <text>||Same as /emote.|
|/melody <song #> <song #> etc||To use /melody, type /melody <song#> <song#> <song#> <etc>. The numbers are the same numbers you would use for the /cast command. The melody will repeat the songs in the specified order until a note is missed due to an interruption.|
|/memspellset <name>||Memories the current spell set, and saves it as <name>.|
|/mixahead (1 to 100)||Sets the amount of sound to pre-mix, default = 8. The lower the number the better.|
|/mousespeed (0, 1, 2, or 3)||Changes the speed of how fast your mouse moves across screen.|
|/motd||Displays the Message of the Day for your server.|
|/movelog||Using /movelog with a parameter of yes will tag your characters to be permanently moved to another server. Normally only when SoE announce a server move.|
|/mp3||Opens up the in game mp3 player window.|
|/msg <name>||Same as /tell.|
|/newui||This allowed you to toggle between the new and old UI styles. This is now no longer valid, as the old style is no longer available.|
|/note <text>||Allows you to write notes to yourself for future reference. Opens a notes window for this, the information is saved in ?????.|
|/ooc <text>||Allows you to say something as yourself, not as your character, heard throughout the zone.|
|/open||Opens a door your mouse is hovering over.|
|/outputfile (guild or raid or spellbook or inventory or guildbank) (optional filename)||Outputs a list of the relevant section to a text file in your EverQuest folder.|
|/paperdoll||Will now auto-update your current character's profile with a real-time screen shot of your character.|
|/pause||Inserts a pause in a social command. See below for more information.|
|/pet (command)||Gives orders to a charmed or summoned pet. See below for more detailed information.|
|/petition||Opens up the in game customer service window, allows you to make petition as well as search for common problems.|
|/played||Gives you the birth date of your current character, and also lists the amount of time total you have played your character. Also lists the total time of your current EverQuest session..|
|/quit or /q||Immediately logs your character out to the server selection screen, even if sitting or FD'ed. This still leaves you in the game world until kicked by the server.|
|/random (# to #) or /rand||Generates a random number between # and #.|
|/reply <text> or /r <text>||If a "/tell" is received, the user may respond by using this command. This can also be done by pressing the "r" key.|
|/report <player name>||Allows a player to report the text that is currently being displayed in the chat window. If you are reporting harassment, bad language, threats, or other actions by another player, use their character name for the <character name> in the report. If you are reporting falling for 10,000 points damage, or other irregularities that affect your character, then use your character's name. You should then use /petition and let a GM know that you have used /report so that they will know to look for your reported text. To prevent 'spamming', you can only send one report at a time. You can do another /report only after zoning. Please make sure to have the text you want to report in the chat window when you use this command, /report will only send the bottom ten lines of text that are actually shown in your chat window. Use Shift-Page Up and Shift-Page Down to move through your chat text until you see the text you want to report.|
|/resetwindows||Used to reset to default the locations on-screen for the different Graphical User Interface (GUI) boxes.|
|/reverb (ON or OFF)||Toggles the reverb (echo) sounds on or off.|
|/reversesound (ON or OFF)||This command will reverse the left and right channel for your sound.|
|/rewind||Helps to free your character if it has become stuck in the geometry (i.e. Tree, Floor, Door, etc!).|
|/rmarknpc (1, 2 or 3)||Uses the Raid Mark NPC leadership ability, to mark 1, 2, or 3 NPCs depending on how many levels the Raid Leader has.|
|/roleplay||When people use the /who command, this hides your character's level, class, race, and zone, but guild is still visible (unlike /anon).|
|/rtarget or /rt||Automatically targets the player who just sent you a tell, and places them in the Target Window. NOTE: This ability is subject to the range to the target.|
|/say <text>||Say's the text, and only people very near can see.|
|/safelock <optional password>||Locks your interface. The mouse and all commands, with the exception of /safelock, cannot be used in this time.|
|/send <text>||Same as /tell.|
|/serverfilter (ON or OFF)||Allows player to turn off or on packet messages from other players, allowing for less lag in raid situations|
|/shadow||Allows you to turn on & off the shadows from your chat windows.|
|/shield <character name>||If you are a warrior, activates the shield command on your current target or the name specified.|
|/shout <text>||Text is seen across entire zone.|
|/showgrass||Turns on/off the display of grass.|
|/shownames (off, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)||/shownames now works with the following parameters: no parameter = display the current
setting, off = don't show player names over their heads, 1 = show only first names of players, 2 = show First and Last Name, 3 = show First, Last, and Guild (if any),
4 = show everything, 5 = show Title (if any) and First name, 6 = show Title (if any), First,
Also, the LFG, AFK and LD tags will always show if names are not off. There will no longer be brackets around them, and LFG will now appear at the end of the name with the AFK and LD tags (instead of being a * at the beginning . A player character will always have a name over its head, even if they are skeletons (unless /shownames is off), with the exception of some rare cases when players are turned into certain NPCs. Red names are PvP, Blue names are not PvP.
|/showspelleffects (ON or OFF)||Toggles spell effects (visuals) on or off.|
|/sit (on or off)||/sit (or /sit on) will cause your character to sit. /sit off causes your character to stand.|
|/split # # # #||Splits a defined amount of money with your group: plat, gold, silver, copper respectively - All numbers must be present. Use 0 for coins to not be split.|
|/stand||Will cause your character to stand.|
|/stopcast||Immediately stops casting a spell, does the same a 'D' duck.|
|/stopsong||Bards can use this command in their hotkeys to stop singing their songs.|
|/stoptracking||Used by tracking classes to stop tracking their current tracking target.|
|/surname <last name>||Players over level 20 may use this command to assign a last name to their character. This can now be used multiple times, but limited to once per month.|
|/system <cmd> [arguments]||**** THIS IS A POWER USER COMMAND. BE CAREFUL!
This command will allow you to execute a system command and pass arguments to it. This command can be used to control various external applications most notably voice communication software that relies on system commands to join channels and control other features without having to leave the game. Example: /system notepad c:\notes.txt
NOTE: EnableSystemCommand=1 must be set in the [default] section of EQCLIENT.INI to enable this command.

|/target or /tar <name>||The command can be used to target other Players by name. NOTE: This ability is subject to the range to the target.|
|/target pet||Allows you to target your pet, handy for those classes which have multiple pet names.|
|/targetgroupbuff (on or off) or /tgb||Allows you to target someone in another group and buff their whole group using a buff that can be cast on a group (brells or HB, for instance)|
|/tasktimers||Tells you how long you must wait before repeating certain DoN missions/tasks.|
|/tell <player name> <text>||Text is seen by <Player name> anywhere in the game.|
|/testbuffme||If you are on the test server, levels your character to level 25 and gives you a set of items.|
|/time||Gives you the time of day in Norrath and the time on Earth.|
|/toggleinspect (on or off)||Allows you to inspect what armor another person is wearing by right clicking on them.|
|/trackplayers (on, off, group)||Allows those with the tracking skill to indicate whether or not they want player characters to show up in their tracking list.|
|/trackfilter (Red, Yellow, White, Blue, Green)||(Ranger only) - Specify here what NPC /con colors you do not want to see in your tracking display. For example, /trackfilter Red will remove all 'red' (dangerous) NPCs from your tracking display.|
|/tracksort (Normal, Distance, Consider, Rdistance, Rconsider)||(Ranger only) - This is used by Rangers to control how their tracking display sorts targets. Normal is by how long they have been in the zone (oldest NPCs first), Distance will put the closest NPC on top of the tracking list, Consider will put the highest level NPCs on top, Rdistance will have the closest NPC listed last, Rconsider has the tracking list from low level on top to high level below.|
|/trader or /trade||Opens up the bazaar vendor window to set items for sale (Bazaar zone only)|
|/ttell||Sends a tell to the player you have targeted. Also works when player's corpse is targeted.|
|/usercolor <Chat Type> Rvalue Gvalue Bvalue||For example, For Guild chat to be yellow, you would type /usercolor 4 0 255 255. This is the same as editing the TextColor portion of your Eqclient.ini file, and the list of Chat Type numbers can be found in that section of this manual. See below for more information.|
|/url <url>||This command will allow you to open an arbitrary URL, such as a website or local file. For accessing http:// URLs you can use /www instead. Examples: /url http://everquest.com /url file://c:/notes.txt|
|/veteranReward||Allows you to claim you Veteran Rewards (some free AA skills) from SoE (introduced in May 2005).|
|/vgroup #||Using the new OoW voice macro feature you can now play voice number # to your group, via a chat command.|
|/viewpetition||Allows you to view your current /petition.|
|/viewport <distance from left, distance from top, width, height>||The viewport command allows you to change the size of the gameplay area on your screen. The 'gameplay area' is the area in which Norrath is displayed.|

The command "/doability #" allows you to put skills into macro threads. For example, you could combine Lay Hands with a message to your group informing them that you have used your Lay on Hands skill.
The number of the ability is based on your skills window; the upper left (default label "1") button is ability 1, the bottom right button (default label "6") is ability 6. On the combat skills window, the skills below Melee and Ranged Attack are abilities 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Hits Mode - Combat Text Display Options
/hitsmode allows you to create separate windows for your combat text. This is a rather advanced feature, so it might take a little practice to get the results that you want.
Here is the technical jargon:
Usage: /hitsmode <my|me|other> <on|off|m2|m3|m4|m5> <X> <Y> <COUNT> <FONTSIZE> <HEADER> <BG> <WIDTH> <FORCEDRAW>
my = My Attacks, me = Me Getting Hit, other = Others Attacks
If you choose M2 through M5, then:
- <X> and <Y> are the screen location.
- <COUNT> is how many lines of text will be displayed. The acceptable range is 1 to 10.
- <FONTSIZE> is a font size of the text. The acceptable range is 0, 1, or 2.
- <HEADER> is either on or off. 1 to turn on and 0 to turn it off.
- <BG> controls the background. It is either on or off. 1 to turn it on or 0 to turn it off.
- <WIDTH> is the width of the background.
- <FORCEDRAW> is 1 to force the window to draw even if empty.
Note: m5 is only valid for My Attacks. It's ignored for other types and m4 is used instead.
- off - nothing displayed (turns off all these hit messages, including those in the standard chat window)
- on - displayed as normal in the chat window (standard/default mode)
- M2 - displayed at a given X,Y position for a given number of lines in a given font size. (displays all information shown in the chat damage message)
- M3 - displayed in condensed form at a given X,Y position for a given number of lines in a given font size. (damage type, target damages and damage amount)
- M4 - displayed as just the damage # at a given X,Y position for a given number of lines in a given font size. (only displays damage number)
- M5 - displayed in condensed form at given X, Y position (only for My Attacks - displays type of hit and damage number)
/clearhits will clear the current setting for the M2-M5 modes of the /hitsmode command.
These setting are saved in the INI file and will be persistent.
The first time you use this setting, it is best to set all the parameters. However, you don't have to reset them all every time you want to make a change.
Using -1 in place of any given parameter will default back to the setting saved in the INI file. So you can use -1 for any parameter that you want to remain as it is while you change others.
You can also stop short of full parameters. If you don't include trailing parameters (for example you leave off <WIDTH>, it will use the settings for those parameters from the existing INI.
Allows a player to control sound devices such as cdaudio or mp3s to play when in-game. This command will be further developed in the future to be more user friendly. Until that point, the following are some commands you can use to play audio CD's: Before using any other of these commands, use the following to open up communications:
/mcicontrol open cdaudio
/mcicontrol play cdaudio
/mcicontrol pause cdaudio
/mcicontrol stop cdaudio

To skip forward.

Note: Though ejecting itself should not cause any gameplay problems, putting in a new disk may.
If you have AutoPlay enabled on your computer (which is windows default), it may start your CDaudio program and possibly, switch out of EverQuest, causing EverQuest to likely crash, or at the least may cause a phantom cursor to appear.
If you have AutoPlay disabled, putting in a disk should not cause any problems.
You may now enter pauses in social batches with the /pause command. /pause takes an argument from 1 to 600, with the value being equal to the number of tenths of seconds (i.e. /pause 100 will yield a 10 second pause).
For example, a social consisting of:/sit off
/sit on ...would cause you to stand up, cast the spell in slot 1, wait 10 seconds after you've STARTED casting the spell, and sit down.
Furthermore, you can also use the /pause command on the same line as another social by separating the commands with a comma. Even though the pause command is specified first, it is executed AFTER the command on the same line.
/sit off...would have the same effect as the example above. It is important to note that the comma can only be used to separate a /pause command from another, and MUST be specified first on the line.
/pause 100, /cast 1
|/pet as you were||returns the pet to neutral, belaying all prior orders.|
|/pet attack||tells the pet to attack the current targeted mob.|
|/pet attack <target>||tells the pet to attack the designated <target>.|
|/pet back off||tells the pet to stop its attack and return to its "/pet guard here" point.|
|/pet feign||allows a Necromancer pet to attempt to Feign Dead (subject to the Necromancer have the relevant AA)|
|/pet focus||tells the pet to focus on current target|
|/pet follow me||tells the pet to follow you.|
|/pet get ale||Ever seen a drunk pet? It's not a mages fault when a pet is naughty!|
|/pet get lost||kills pet.|
|/pet guard here||tells the pet to guard its current location.|

|/pet health report||displays the pets health as a percentage.|
|/pet hold||prevents your pet from attacking a mob for any reason until explicitly told by the owner. Invaluable for raids.|

|/pet notaunt||tells the pet to not taunt its attacker.|
|/pet no cast||toggles between casting and non casting|
|/pet no taunt||tells the pet to not taunt its attacker.|
|/pet report health||displays the pets health as a percentage and also lists all current buffs on pet in text form.|

Please Note: The majority of pets now zone with you.
You must already have a voice recognition engine, such as Dragon Naturally Speaking, installed on your system, and have the default user trained. You do NOT have to run the engine yourself, the game will do that for you.
Once in EverQuest, bring up the chat bar (hit enter) and type in "/voice". Make sure it gives you the message, "Voice Recognition will be *ON* the next time you run the game..." If it does, then quit all the way out of EverQuest like the message instructs you to do and re run it.
After you have done this, you should get a message in the chat box when you get back in letting you know that Voice Recognition is Enabled. You must turn the Microphone on though using the /microphone command. Voice commands and dictation are ignored when the Microphone is off, and the game starts up with the microphone off.
More details about the /vrdelay command - This allows the user to set how long EQ will Sleep in the main rendering loop in order to improve voice recognition response. The higher the delay, the lower framerate will be, so it is recommended that the user start with "/vrdelay 1" and go up by one each time until they are happy with the voice recognition response time. Use the lowest number that provides adequate response time.
Note: that you can also dictate into the chat bar once it is up. Below are a list of other voice commands.

/ability GM/Guide Command (unknown) /becomenpc [model #] [gender] [skin #] [face #] [height # value] GM / Senior Guide Command. This allows the GM or his target to 'become' a specific NPC, as designated by number. The other numbers customize the model. Available to Senior Guides and above. /broadcast GM / Senior Guide Command. Allows GM/Guide to send message to all zones and/or all servers. Available to Senior Guides and above. /buff (level) GM Command. Allows GM to set a target player or NPC's level. No. GMs won't do this for you. Don't even ask. /clearfaction GM Command. Apparently this is how a GM can clear a player's factions back to the base level. Can only be done by very very very senior GMs, so don't even ask for it. /col GM Command. A toggle that controls whether or not the GM can pass through solid objects like doors and walls. /coor (X) (Y) (Z) GM Command. Actually, the old form of GOTO. /create (item number) GM Command. Allows the GM to create an item by it's specific number. Only really really high level GMs can do this, so don't even ask. /debug GM command. Internal debugging command. (Makes NPCs report their debug status). /expgive GM Command (assume this allows GMs to give Experience to players in reward for quests or as restorations.) /expset GM Command (assume this allows GMs to set a players total experience to a specific number.) /eyes (character name) Allows the GM to "see" through a specified character's eyes - just like the bind sight spell, but undetectable. /eyes with no argument resets the GM's vision to normal. /find (name) GM/Guide Command. This allows GM/Guide to locate aplayer or corpse anywhere within the zone. /fly GM Command. Allows GMs to move on all three axes. Up and down are controlled by the Insert and Delete keys respectively. /freeze GM Command. Allows the GM to "freeze" a character - immobilizing them. /gm (name) GM Command. Allows the GM to toggle a GM flag for targeted player on or off. If no name is specified, it affects the GM. /gold (number) GM Command. Allows the GM to create the amount of gold specified. Since only really high level GMs can do this, it should be obvious that they won't do it for you. /goto (name) GM/Guide Command. Allows instant transport to named player or location. /granttitle (title) GM Command. Allows GM to grant a title to the targeted player. /harmful GM Command. Restores targeted player's ability to harm things. Reverse's the /harmless command. /harmless GM Command. Renders targeted player harmless. They cannot harm anything until they've been restored by the /harmful command. /heading (0-512) GM Command. Sets the direct heading of the GM by degree. 0 = North, 128 = West, 256 = South and 384 = East. /height [#] GM / Senior Guide Command. This allows GMs/Guides to adjust the height of themselves or Players, with a range of 0-96, although setting it too high can cause corruption in the playerfile. Available to Senior Guides and above. /hideme GM/Guide Command. This makes GM/Guide invisible and not appear on /who lists. /hout (1-24) GM Command. Sets the time of day on the GMs computer. /kill GM/Guide Command. This allows a Guide to kill any NPC target instantly, leaving no corpse. Senior Guides and above can use this command to kill players, as well. /lastname (name) GM / Senior Guide Command. Used to grant or change surnames to 20+ level players. Available to Senior Guides and above. /leader GM Command. Makes targeted player the leader of the guild they are in. /name (name) [b] GM / Senior Guide Command. Used to change name of targeted player to something more acceptable. Using the [b] flag also submits the old name into the "Bad Names" database. Available to Senior Guides and above. /permakill GM Command. Permanently kills creatures, replacing them with first level 1 hp human models. Usually only done when the creature is buggy. Only super-senior GMs can do this. /pkill GM Command. Sets targeted player's PVP flag to +PVP - they are now a Playerkiller. Only super-senior GMs can do this. /private GM/Guide Command. This is the GM's private com Channel. Abbreviated /p. /quest GM/Guide Command (unknown) /repop GM Command. Insta-kills all monsters in the zone, then respawns the whole zone. /run (1-6) GM Command. Allows a GM to set their own running speed. /run with no number resets to default. /searchcorpse [playername] GM/Guide Command (abbreviated /sea or /search) - Checks all zones to see if the specified player has a corpse there, and if so, reports the zone and corpse name (such as playername's corpse0). /servers GM/Guide Command - this returns a status of all zones that are currently up. /silence GM Command. Targeted player can no longer communicate via ANY channel. Must be reversed with /unsilence. /skill GM+ command - (unknown) /snoop GM Command. Allows GM to eavesdrop on all of targeted player's communication channels. GM can stop snooping by using /snoop. /spell (number) GM Command. Allows GM to cast any spell they desire - they just have to know the spell number. /stat GM Command. Display's the GM's own skill numbers. /summon (name) GM/Guide Command - This allows GM/Guide to summon a player directly to them. /torch (1-200) GM Command. Allows GM to create an invisible light source with a radius equal to the specified number in feet. /unfreeze GM Command. Allows the GM to release a character from being "frozen." /unpkill GM Command. Sets targeted player's PVP flag to -PVP. They can no longer kill other players. Only Senior GMs can do this, so don't even bother asking. Now you *might* be able to quest for it... /unsilence GM Command. Targeted player is restored to full communication status. Reverses the /silence command. /unsnoop GM command. Ends a /snoop session. /wipe (name) Allows the GM to delete all cash and equipment on targeted character, including their bank account. Only Senior GMs can do this - so be careful who you annoy... /zone GM/Guide Command - This insta-teleports GM/Guide to specified zone, at the "safe point" of the zone.
Each window in full screen mode can be enabled or disabled for viewing by engaging the customizable hot-key combination for that feature and window. Please Note: Generally pressing escape (Esc Key) will close a window.

EverQuest can be played in two different modes - full screen and windowed mode. Windowed mode will allow you to minimize EverQuest and go about doing other things on your computer, but will produce more video lag and performance loss than full screen mode.
To put EverQuest in windowed mode, press ALT - ENTER. Then press ALT - SHIFT - R to get mouse control to minimize the window and minimize it like you would any other program.
Please Note: You can now also do this in the Options window, via a toggle button. Also, after the OoW patch you can now (at last!) use ALT - TAB to swap windows.
The command /join <channel name> allow you to join a player created chat channel. You can be in up to 10 of these at once. These channels can be seen across all servers (for instance, serverwide.thebazaar), on the server you play on (for instance, a bazaar channel for auctioning gear), or be password protected (and moderated) to protect sensitive information (such as an officer meeting for a guild).
To talk in each channel, you need to find out what channel number the channel you wish to say something in is. To do this, type /list. That will bring up a list of channel names along with the number of people in each channel. Then, type in /# <text> (where # is the number of the channel you want to talk in).
To join a password protected channel, you first need to find out not only the name of the channel, but the password. Once you have both pieces of information, type in /join <channel name>:<password>. To join a chat channel on another server, put the name of the server in front of the channel's name (/join antonius.bazaar).
Player made chat channels are not permanent, meaning that once the last person leaves, the channel is gone, with one exception. Password protected channels last for 24 hours after everyone leaves.

One of the newest features of EverQuest is the facility to send tells to other EQ servers and to join cross-server chat channels. You can now also do the same with the EQ2 servers.
The commands for this are the more or less the same as the normal EQ (single server) commands, but are preceded by a different character - for example cross server commands start with a semi-colon ";", whereas the EQ2 commands start with an open square bracket "[".
Cross-Server (EQ) Commands

During gameplay you can view your character from several different camera angles, zoom in and out, or pan up and down.
To cycle between available views, press F9.
- First-person view (default) - View straight ahead (you can't see your character).
- Overhead (rotating) - View from above (camera rotates as you turn).
- Rear (rotating) - View from rear (camera rotates as you turn and stays behind you).
- Overhead (fixed) - View from above (camera does not rotate when you turn).
- Rear (fixed) - View from rear (camera does not rotate when you turn).
You can also toggle the interface on and off (turning off the interface makes for cleaner screenshots). To cycle through interface views, press F10.
You can pan the camera in different directions, either with the keyboard (press Alt + the arrow keys) or by right-clicking the mouse. To pan with the mouse, right-click-and-drag in any direction (this works in all views except for fixed overhead and rear views - in these, the mouse zooms the view in and out).
F12: Enable/disable mouse panning
Here are some useful keyboard camera commands:
- Numpad 5 or Home: Re-center view
- Numpad 9 and 3 or Page-Up and Page-Down: Pitch view up / down

There are various commands keys that are not covered elsewhere (at the moment), so these are detailed here - they may move as sections get added, removed, or updated.
|D||Makes you duck (/duck), handy for moving through small spaces.|

|F10||This allows you to toggle the interface on and off (turning off the interface makes for cleaner screenshots).|
|F11||Toggles the ping bar off and off (little green thing in corner with numbers!)|

|H||Pressing "H" will Hail the player or non-player character you have in your Target Window. Useful for starting conversations with NPCs, for quests, etc.|
|Q||Pressing "Q" will initiate the auto-attack command (shortcut for the /attack on command). Be careful when typing, as you could press this in the wrong mode and attack a NPC which you will not beat!|
|R||Pressing "R" will allow you to reply the the last /tell you received. Basically a quick shortcut for the /reply command.|
|-||The minus (-) key on the number keypad allows you to take a screenshot. The format of the resulting image file can be changed in your EQclient.ini file - see below for further information on EQclient.ini.|
This section shows you how to block beneficial spells within the game and manually by editing the .ini file. This can also be used to block Mod Rods etc.
Note: EverQuest only allows you to have up-to 20 different spells blocked, so choose wisely.
** Manual Workaround **
Please Note: Please ensure sure you are completely logged out of EverQuest before making any changes (as otherwise they could be lost).
You need to edit you ini file and this is called Yourname_server.ini and found in your EverQuest installation folder, in this file you will find a section called [BlockedSpells], and you need to edit the BlockedSpellID#= lines.
Note: A value of -1 means that there is no spell being blocked (as assigned to that entry) - thus if you wish to removed a blocked spell, just put in -1.
Now you need to determine the spell number of the spell(s) you wish to block (however this does not work for negative spells, i.e. DoTs, etc!), the easiest way to do this is to go to http://lucy.allakhazam.com and search for a spell. Type in the name of the spell you wish to block in the Spell Search box.
Lets say we want to block that horrible Ranger buff called Strength of Tunare, when you type this in the search box, when you get the spell displayed, you will notice that the URL has changed, and it now states http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=3487&source=Live. The number next to id= is the number you need, so in this case its 3487. All you need to do now is update one of the BlockedSpellID#= lines to equal 3487 instead of -1. i.e.
Just continue for each spell you wish to block.
** In Game **
You have two ways to block spells in game, and these are as follows:
1) Allow the spell you wish to block to be cast on you, and the right-click on the spell and select Add this spell to list of blocked spells.
2) Use the /blockspell command (see the General Commands List for further information).
EQ players now have the ability to send persistent messages to players who are not logged in! To use this new feature, take a look at the new icon that has been added to the window selector. This icon will change color when you have unread messages. It also blinks for a short period of time when new mail arrives. To open the mail window, click on the icon or use CTRL-M. Here's a few other helpful hints.
Sending Messages - To send a message, press the "Compose" button. Enter the character name of the recipient in the "To" field, a subject and the message itself. Press the "Send" button and mail icon of the recipient will start blinking! Please be aware that you can currently only email one recipient at a time.
Receiving Messages- If you are online, new mail is delivered to you immediately without delay. When you open the mail window, the number of unread messages is put between square brackets close to the "Inbox" list title. In the mail window, your messages usually appear sorted by date. You can click on the column header to change the sort type and order. You can also resize the width of a column with the mouse, just click and drag a column header separator.
Viewing Messages - To view the body of a message, select it in the list. The message text window displays the message fields in a different color, followed by the text of the message.
Managing Messages- When a message is selected you can reply to the sender or forward the message to another player by pressing the corresponding button. An appropriate default subject will be inserted for you and a copy of the original message is added to the mail composition window.
Deleting Messages - You can also delete messages, in which case they will be placed in your "Deleted Items" folder. To select multiple messages for deletion you can use SHIFT-click and CTRL-click. The "Deleted Items" list is where your deleted messages go. The total number of messages in that list appears in the title. Two additional actions are available to you when managing your deleted messages: you can restore deleted messages using the "Undelete" button, and you can permanently delete all the messages by click on the "Empty Trash" button.
NOTE: You can send a message to yourself. You can also send a message from the command line using the "[mailto" command. Syntax: [mailto <character name> <subject> <text> If the subject contains whitespace, you must enclose it in double quotation marks. Example: [mailto LadyCandy "You are so sweet!" Dear LadyCandy, etc. etc.
[Defaults] Section (This section contains general information regarding client setup)
|APVOptimizations=TRUE or FALSE||When EverQuest is loaded it checks for an "APVOptimizations" key value pair specified in the eqclient.ini and turns portalizing off or on depending on this value. If a value does not exist in this file it gets set to on by default and written to the eqclient.ini file. Once changes are made to the state of the apv optimizations, the eqclient.ini file will be updated accordingly.|
|AttackOnAssist=TRUE or FALSE||Sets whether or not you want "autoattack" to be automatically turned on after issuing the /assist command in game.|
|ChatFontSize=[0-5]||This line controls the size of the text font in your chat window. Default is 0. When using full screen mode with higher resolutions, it is helpful to set this value to 2 or higher, depending on your taste, eyesight, and reading comprehension ability.|
|ChatLineSpacing=0||This line controls the number of spaces between each line of text in your chat window. Default is 0. It is not suggested putting this value over 2, or it could be very difficult to read text as it scrolls by.|
|DefaultLanguage=0 (Common Tongue)||Sets your default language.|

|LastCharSel=[1-8]||This line controls which character is selected at the character select screen, so that whichever character you played last will be selected when you go to the character select screen the next time you play EverQuest.|

By default, these are all set to "FALSE", as it is possible that those with lower end systems will have problems when attempting to load all of the new armor files. At your option, you can switch all or part of them to "TRUE" to see the new armor. If you have problems with framerate or disk swapping, turn all or part of them back to "FALSE".
As a note, though you may be able to obtain the files and make these entries if you are not Velious-enabled, the new armor will not be displayed unless you are. (Velious Only)
|LockWindows=FALSE||This statement is the same as hitting Alt-L in game. This allows windows to be rearranged with your cursor if FALSE and locked in place if set to TRUE. You can very easily do this in game with using the Alt-L function to toggle the lock off/on.|
|Log=TRUE or FALSE||Sets the default state of chat logging to the log file for your character and server. Setting this option to true would have the same effect as logging into the game and typing "/log on" at the beginning of every play session.|
|MousePointerSpeedMod=[0-3]||This is to allow faster movement across the screen by your mouse. The higher the number, the faster the mouse scrolling will be. Default is 0. It is not suggested to set this to higher than 3, as it makes it difficult to accurately control the mouse movement.|
|NewUI=TRUE or FALSE||Sets the default User Interface. Set to TRUE to use the new EverQuest interface, set to FALSE to use the old interface. This is now no longer valid, as the old style is no longer available.|
|RunMode=TRUE or FALSE||Sets whether or not you want to automatically "run" when you log into the game.|
|ScreenMode=NORMAL or FULL||Sets the default screen mode for when you enter the game.|
|ScreenshotType=XXX||Where XXX can be one of the following format: BMP, JPG, TGA, DDS, PNG. If this is missing the default will be BMP, all screenshots are saved in the Screenshot folder.|
|ShowAlarmWindow=true or false||Turns the Alarm window on or off when first logging in.|
|ShowDynamicLights=TRUE||Having this line set to TRUE enables the player to see special graphics due to light sources on your character such as torches, greater lightstones, in a new light so to speak.|
|ServerFilter=0 (NO) or 1 (YES)||If this line is set to 1, than Server side filtering is occurring. Default is 0. If you are having problems with lag in a raid situation, or when many other players are in the same general area in EverQuest, it is best to have this set to 1.|
|ShowGrass=TRUE or FALSE||Defines whether or not you will be able to see textured grass in some Luclin zones.|
|ShowInspectMessage=TRUE or FALSE||Sets whether or not you want the "CharacterName is inspecting you" message to be displayed when you are inspected by another character.|
|ShowNamesLevel=4 (default)||This line allows you to control how much of a character's name will be displayed.|
|ShowSpellEffects=0 (NO) or 1 (YES)||This line allows particle effects to be shown if it equals 1. If this line equals 0, no particle effects will be seen in-game when someone casts a spell.|

|TextureCache=TRUE or FALSE||Enables or disables texture caching. This setting will store textures (.txc) on your local hard drive. Once there, it can help to increase load times while zoning.|
|TrackFilterType=0||This is another Ranger only line that is best changed in-game. The command in game allows you to specify not showing certain conning creatures. Default is 0. Please refer to the section later in this manual dealing with all of the /commands to see the proper use of this in game.|
|TrackPlayers=TRUE or GROUP or FALSE||This line shows the current selection (Default is TRUE) for showing players in tracking, not showing players, or only group members. It is suggested to change this setting in game to change this value.|

In order to see any Erudite or Barbarian model, the corresponding Human model must be set to TRUE.
In order to see any High Elf, Dark Elf, or Half Elf model, the corresponding Wood Elf model must be set to TRUE.
It is recommended that if you do not have a top-of-the-line system, that you disable all unnecessary models to increase your system performance.
|UISkin=Default||Use this setting to globally set your characters to utilize a specific UI skin. Leave the setting to Default to use separate UI skins for different characters.|
